Chili is on a mission to build the best sleep products using sleep science, to inspire individuals to sleep better, and to fuel our communities with philanthropic and environmentally-conscious efforts. Chili was born when founders Todd and Tara Youngblood began searching for higher-quality deep sleep. With Todd’s background in product development (and an uncle who invented the waterbed), and Tara’s science background, Todd and Tara were uniquely positioned to start a sleep tech company.

The Challenge

Chili met the Clyde team at the IRCE 2019 conference in Chicago. The team is always looking for ways to grow their business while improving the customer experience, so they were thrilled to learn about Clyde’s product protection platform.

 

Chili offers their customers a generous two year limited warranty, which covers any defects in materials or workmanship in their products, but they wanted to give customers the option for additional coverage from accidents, such as drops or spills. Accidents happen—and Chili’s customers now have the option to protect their purchase for a total of three years.

The Solution

With Clyde's simple integration, Chili was up and running within hours, and sold their first contract on the day of launch. Clyde’s on-site widget lets customers easily add product protection to their purchase and view terms and conditions when they add a product to their cart, without interrupting the purchase flow.

 

Since launch on November 20th, Chili’s attachment rate (the percentage of orders with a product protection plan added) has steadily increased month over month, currently reaching 20%. For context, the industry average attachment rate is 4%. On one product, they’ve seen attachment rates at a staggering 38%.
